Postdoctoral fellow in the group of Walter Salzburger.
I like fish since my childhood and my research specialization is molecular genetics and genomics of fishes.
Recently, I am focused on genomics and transcriptomics in East African cichlid fishes (haplochromines). My research project is based on the next-generation genomic and transcriptomic data (in Salzburger Lab).
Further, my previous projects and/or the running side-projects cover mainly 1) phylogeny of Neotropical cichlids with special interest in biogeography and phylogeography, 2) phylogeography of African cichlid fishes (samples from Angola), 3) barcoding of Angolan fishes, and 4) biogeography of fish genus Nemacheilus in Sundaland, SE Asia. I also participated in the projects focused on evolutionary history of the European loaches (genus Cobitis) and the Antarctic family Nototheniidae (genus Trematomus).
